GCA-2000H/GCA-2000R

The microbial growth curve is a curve plotted with the microbial quantity (the number of viable bacteria or the weight of bacteria) as the ordinate and the culture time as the abscissa. Generally speaking, the change in microbial (bacterial) weight is more capable of reflecting the growth process essentially than the change in quantity. By measuring the microbial growth curve, one can understand the growth patterns of various bacteria and it has significant guiding significance for both scientific research and production.

Comparative Advantage

Traditional turbidimetric method

(Determination of a single microbial strain)

1.Preparation of seed liquid: Take 1 vial of bacterial strain and inoculate it into the culture medium. Incubate for 18 hours to obtain the seed culture liquid.

2.Labeling and numbering: Prepare 48 Erlenmeyer flasks or test tubes filled with sterile culture medium and number them from 0 to 48 respectively.

3.Inoculation and culture: Pipette 1 mL of the seed liquid into each of the 48 numbered Erlenmeyer flasks or test tubes, and culture with shaking at 37 °C.

4.Measurement of growth amount: Every half an hour, take out the corresponding Erlenmeyer flask or test tube, pour the content into a cuvette, and place it in a spectrophotometer to measure the OD value. 5.Analysis of experimental results: Input the measured OD values into software to draw and analyze the growth curve of this bacterial strain.

Automatic Microbial Growth Curve Analyzer

(Simultaneous determination of 1 - 192 microbial strains)

1. Preparation of seed liquid: Take 1 - 192 vials of bacterial strains and inoculate them into the culture medium. Incubate for 18 hours to obtain the seed culture liquid.

2. Inoculation: Add 1 - 192 microbial solutions to a 48 - well plate and place it into the GCA - 2000.

3. Automated result analysis: Every half an hour, the GCA - 2000 will measure 1 - 192 sample microbial solutions and draw the growth curves in real - time.

Through the above comparison, it can be clearly seen that the automatic microbial growth curve analyzer has significant advantages over the traditional turbidimetric method in terms of the ability to handle multiple microbial strains, the degree of automation, and efficiency. It is especially applicable to scenarios where the growth situations of a large number of microbial strains need to be analyzed simultaneously, while the traditional turbidimetric method still has its application value in the fine determination of a single microbial strain.
